Balasar takes the Seshtau favor off his belt and stores it away in one of his pouches carefully, giving the pouch a quick pat before looking back to Ketheri with clear excitement in his eyes.

"Sooo, as an official member of the Mage's Guild, where do I start? Any experiments need doing, or maybe some magical research to do? Where do I start?"

He then takes a quick breath and slows himself down to think through what needs to be done before throwing himself into his new guild responsibilities.

"I know that fixing this curse is first and foremost, so you should probably know that some of those gems in wall of that hallway deeper in the amphitheater are damaged and really need to be mended. I believe we were told it was leaking some sort of magic into the material plane and if all of them were damaged it could risk disconnecting us from the other planes. The golem before Flicker has the information if you ask it. I don't think it will happen anytime soon, but better to be safe than sorry."

Kethri smiles at Balasar. "Hm... Well first, I suppose we should show you around. Let you get acquainted with the place. And I'll go ahead and get someone to clean up a room for you. Not that it's occupied but it may be a bit dusty in there since... Well, since we lost people."

She gestures to a hall to the side. "Follow me. I'll take you to the library and ritual rooms. As well as the member quarters."

She gasps. "Oh! I will also get the permissions adjusted so that you have outer ward control. You are an initiate so we don't provide initiates with inner ward control on the front door but you'll be able to lower most wards inside the building."

Kethri smiles again and begins walking towards the hall. "Follow me!'

 

Zuigrii follows along with the tour until they enter an area with the strongest wards up before pulling Balasar to the side for a second. 

“I understand your excitement and eagerness to handle this curse on the lands but it is sometimes best not to talk about the specifics. Too many smiths at the anvil and none can swing a hammer if we’re not careful. Plus there are those that don’t want us to succeed so we need to try to make sure we don’t let them find out what we are doing next.”

Zuigrii claps his hand onto Balasar’s shoulder before straightening up with a smile. 

“We’ve got this. Trust in our party and those who fight for this kingdom and all of the planes.”

Balasar nods as Zuigrii speaks.

"You're right, you're right. I'm just not used to this level of responsibility, and this has been the most excitement I've seen since... well, my whole life, really. Never thought I'd be involved in something this calamitous, let alone alongside lady Jade and her inner circle. I'll be more careful."

He then looks back towards the direction Kethri was leading, then back to Zuigrii.

"Now then, we should probably get back to them before they wonder where we've walked off to. Besides, I can't wait to see where we're going."

Zuigrii continues walking as he continues talking. 

“Oh you get used to it eventually. You’re showing plenty of promise already. Besides, the chaos becomes normal and if it ever becomes too much you’ll have your own room here or you can come by my place and get away. Plus I’m around here occasionally anyway. Making deliveries from the artisans guild or talking to Kethri. I actually need to talk to her after we’re done showing you around anyway. I’m not as studied and need some information on magics I don’t personally practice.”

Kethri leads Balasar through the inner sanctum of the Mage's Guild. Down corridors and into rooms. Some rooms hold glowing circles where mage's are busy at work casting rituals. Other rooms are simply bedrooms, though they mostly stand empty. And there are other doors that Kethri simply passes without explanation.

As Zuiigri and Balasar drift back to talk, Kethri doesn't seem to notice. She continues giving her explanation and tour of the inner sanctum without interruption. 

Finally, she steps up to a set of double doors. She turns to face Balasar and Zuiigri and gestures to the doors. 

"And this is the library! I'm afraid a lot of it is restricted to full fledged members or higher ranking officers. However, there is still a section open to initiates and I encourage you to check it out when you have time." Kethri folds her hands in front of her, her hands clasping and unclasping in a nervous habit. "So, I've taken you around the guild. I'll go get your room ready for you. But do you have any questions for me before I leave you to it? You're welcome to wander around."
